Another day closer....to walking on my own! Actually the rehab is going well. When the physical therapist comes on Monday (today but I'm writing this Sunday)....she said I will probably graduate to the cane from the walker. Might not seem like a big deal to some...and it probably wouldn't have seemed like that big a deal to me a few weeks ago....but now I realize what a big deal it is. I must admit to cheating a little once in a while...and occasionally actually forgetting...and taking off without the walker. I can make it across the house and back but it's pretty tiring and still a little wobbly....It's amazing how we have to relearn some of the little things in life that we take for granted. Hopping up out of a chair to get something...jumping in the car and taking off.....getting dressed is a new experience as well. I still haven't figured out the socks part since I can't bend the knee that far yet....but all those things are getting there slowly but surely. I really have missed seeing all of you but I will be back soon. Liz and I plan to be in service this coming Sunday, although I will not be conducting the service or preaching. Darlene Roads will be bringing the message. I will be coming back to Piedmont to complete at least one more week of physical therapy before the doctor will release me. I see him again on the 11th and hope to amaze him with the speedy recovery I am making. The main drawback is not being able to drive....but I realize that would not be a good idea for me to try for another week or two...reactions in the right leg would be too slow for safety. Anyway.... I say all that to say I do miss you and am looking forward to being back as soon as possible. I will see some of you on Tuesday I'm sure for Norm's services...and I wish that was certainly not under these circumstances. Continue to keep Rhonda, Stacey and Summer in your prayers.

God Bless and Keep you.....see you soon......
