What can be said about this week that hasn't already been said. It's Holy Week....the week between Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday that commemorates Christ's last week on earth. As we come together on Thursday evening at 7 PM....we will celebrate Holy Communion as a means of remembering the last meal (The Last Supper) that Jesus and the disciples had together. We will finish on a somber note as befits the what happened that night after the dinner was over, and the events of the following day. Evil thought it had won! The threat to proper order and the status quo was taken away. Friday was indeed a somber day....I have always wondered why it's called...Good Friday? Anyway... that darkness gave way to celebration when the Sabbath was over and the women went to the tomb and found it empty. The Lord had risen from the dead....and that changed everything for all time. That is why we celebrate Easter....because we have a risen Savior! Once again grief will give way to joy. I hope you will be able to join us this next Sunday as we celebrate. Hope to see you in the pews..... Ed |
