The first one is (Knee replacement) now over....and I'm getting a little less goofy with each passing day (from the pain meds that is).....however....there is something to be said for strong pain medication when it's needed. When it's not needed... pain medication can be your enemy....driving you to your knees and taking away friends, family, jobs, careers and friends and it absorbs you into the clutches of addiction...but used properly, it is a great friend as it promoted healing and wholeness as you recover from illness or surgery. So believe me.... while I may joke about it a little bit...I know how dangerous pain medication can be when it is misused. When I no longer need it...I will not be using it.
It us kind of interesting to be on this side of the knife. I have sat with many of you families through various kinds of surgeries, this time it was you who were there for me and my family. I thank each of you for you kindness, your thoughts, prayers, kind words, flowers, and your thoughts....each one was heard...and felt.
Thanks again.....I look forward to being 'back in the saddle' very soon.
