Our Staff

Rev. Hagen Jackson
"Greetings, my name is Hagen Jackson. I am originally from Kentucky where I was born and raised. I grew up in the Church of God (Anderson, IN) movement. I moved to Oklahoma in 2010 to attend college at Mid-America Christian University. I graduated there in 2013 with a Bachelor's Degree in Bible & Theology with an emphasis in Pastoral Care. From there I moved to Alabama where I served as an associate youth and worship pastor for a year.

We moved back to Oklahoma and due to some family circumstances I went to work in retail management. I prayed for an opportunity in ministry and three years later, after I had joined and gotten plugged in to my in-law's United Methodist Church in Piedmont, I started the candidacy process and was appointed in Pond Creek, OK in 2017. I am a Full-Time licensed local pastor seeking full-membership as an elder. Currently, I am going to seminary online through Asbury Theological Seminary. I will graduate with my Master's of Divinity (M.Div) in 2021.

I have been married to my beautiful wife Kacie for 8 years now and we have three children. I enjoy spending time with my family, playing basketball, playing music, and wood working. I am so thankful for the opportunity to do ministry as my career and I love preaching, teaching, and serving God and others through the United Methodist Church."

Jennifer Taylor, Administrative Asst.

I will admit it is a true honor to work for my church and serve God. I was born in Coffeyville, Kansas and we moved to Perry when I was very young. I was baptized into the Methodist Church in Coffeyville and have been a member Methodist Church for approximately 40 years.

I reside in Perry with my husband, Alan Taylor and our 2 kids. Devin, and Sophia, and our 4 cats.

I graduated from Perry Public Schools in 1995 and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1997. After leaving the military I went to college at The University of Phoenix and received a bachelor’s degree in business.

In my spare time I love hanging out with my kids and husband, riding motorcycles, cooking out and being around friends and family.

Darlene Roads, Receptionist

What a privilege to be able to work in my church! Thank you for allowing me to do so.

I was born in Noble County and have lived here my entire life except for eight years during my first marriage. My greatest accomplishments in life are my three wonderful children, Lori St.Clair, John and James Morrill. I thank God for them daily. (Side note: James told me he is going to retire in May, 2018 and I told him he couldn’t because I was too young!)

When I married Jack Roads 42 years ago, he brought me three more wonderful children, Judy, Wayne and Tracy Allen. I have a total of 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren - all wonderful. Jack and I had nearly 40 years together before he left to be with our Lord.

I thank God that my health is good and I am able to continue to do His work. Since I joined the First United Methodist Church in 2003, I have been involved in UMW on a local and district level and served many years as local Lay Leader. For a while I was a lay speaker. God laid it on my heart to start a Community Christmas dinner and 2018 will be the 10th anniversary of that project. Nothing I have done could be accomplished without the help of Our Lord and the wonderful people in this church. They are my family and I love each and every one dearly.

Thank you for accepting me and allowing me to be a part of this fantastic family of God.

Nancy Thomason, Music Director; Pianist; and Organist

Hello! I’m Nancy Thomason and have served as organist here since 1997. About ten years ago we added the duties of music director to my position. I’ve been a member of Perry FUMC since 1974 when my husband, Bill, and I joined this church as newlyweds.  The Sunday after we joined, the pastor asked us to teach the high school Sunday School class! This church has been an important part of our lives ever since, raising our sons and participating in all ministries of the church. I led a Cherub Choir for small children in those early years, and later led/accompanied our Junior Choir for about ten years.

Music and the Methodist church have been a part of my life since I was born. I grew up in Altus, OK, active in First UMC there, singing hymns each Sunday morning and evening with my dad, who was choir director, leading, (and hoping my little brother wouldn’t shout out a page number again) singing in the church choir as a teenager, substituting for our organist, who was my piano teacher, and, in general, being there “every time the doors were open,” as I have always described my growing up years. I guess it’s no wonder that hymns and sacred music, and how they express our deepest emotions, beliefs, and understanding of God, have always been important to me.

I graduated from OSU with a Bachelors degree in mathematics, married Bill that summer, and taught all secondary math at Red Rock, OK.  Bill is a farmer/rancher, and we have four sons. They are all married, spread all over the world, and have given us the five most wonderful grandchildren in the world! After my sons were almost grown, I returned to OSU and earned a Masters degree in Community Counseling.  I became a licensed counselor and worked in non-profit mental health agencies in Enid, with children in therapeutic foster care, and Ponca City, with adults, for about eleven years before retiring.

Now my favorite activities are spending time with family and friends, painting, traveling, hiking in beautiful places, and sewing ruffled, lacy dresses for my granddaughters, as well as making music! I love what I do in this “job” so much that I don’t think it should be called a job! There is a place for everyone in our music program here at Perry FUMC! I love this congregation and am grateful for the love and support I’ve always received.
